Our Responsibility
At Rakotta, sustainability isn’t a checkbox — it’s how we live and operate. With residents and team members from more than 40 nationalities, we foster a community that is global, inclusive, and connected. Our goal is simple: to make urban living greener, safer, and more inclusive while keeping service at the highest standard.
By concentrating our buildings in downtown Montreal, we share resources, reduce travel, and lower our footprint — all while keeping residents close to transit, cafés, and universities. Every service, from cleaning and maintenance to leasing and security, is handled by our in-house teams. This means consistent care, higher standards, and the assurance that only trusted Rakotta staff enter your home.
Our properties are designed with sustainability in mind, from optimized water and energy use to smart amenity planning. Heavy-use appliances like laundry and dishwashing are centralized, reducing consumption, waste, and maintenance while creating eco-conscious, community-oriented spaces.
ESG at Rakotta
At Rakotta, Ecology, Social, and Governance (ESG) aren’t just industry terms — they’re the foundation of how we operate. ESG is a framework that ensures companies act responsibly toward the environment, people, and long-term decision-making. For us, it’s how sustainability becomes real and measurable.
Ecology – From LED lighting and eco-friendly cleaning products to shared laundry that reduces water and energy use, every detail is chosen with the environment in mind. Even our rooftops contribute by producing Rakotta honey — a small but meaningful step toward biodiversity.
Social – With residents and staff from over 40 nationalities, Rakotta is a global community. We listen and learn through surveys and workshops, making changes that reflect what matters most to our tenants.
Governance – Guided by an ESG consultant and internal reviews, we keep our practices transparent, responsible, and forward-thinking.
Together, these efforts prove that sustainability and service can move hand in hand — creating homes that are modern, secure, and socially responsible.
